Today, Anya shares her tips for staying fashionably warm this winter!
Just because winter is coming does not mean that your style needs to hibernate. It just means that you may have to get more creative with the way you layer your outfits to ensure that you stay warm without looking like a puffed up marshmallow. Take advantage of accessories and the patterns of different materials that you are just too warm for the summer months. You might be surprised how much you look forward to getting dressed in the winter.
In order to stay warm, you are going to have to do some layering of your clothes. Contrasting colors and materials can make people look twice and compliment your bold choice. Pair a silk top with a wool cardigan. It combines a classy and comfortable look to create something that most people would find clashing. This can be your perfect day to night outfit for when you don't have time to change between activities and don't want to risk being cold.
Of course, all this layering does not mean that you should cease to accessorize. You can still utilize your jewelry from the summer months as long as it is not themed for warmer months, but you also have a wide variety of other accessories to choose from. Have fun with hats and scarves. Some are meant to be ultra warm for outdoor activities, but others are casual enough to be worn inside. You can take a plain long-sleeved shirt and make it stylish by tying a patterned scarf around your neck.
Many women look forward to the colder weather for one reason and one reason only. It is the only time of year that they can wear shoes and boots designed to keep you warm and fashionable at the same time. Pairing knee high boots with bold tights and a sweater dress will certainly turn heads at any holiday party. If knee-highs are too bold for you, check out ankle boots with a heel.
Dressing for the winter gives you so many more options. You don't have to limit yourself to a single layer, and you are free to experiment. Knowing that one cardigan can create a dozen different outfits is liberating on those days when you feel like you have absolutely nothing to wear. A different scarf, bolder tights, or a different style of women's shoes drastically changes the look without diminishing the stylish appeal.
