You've probably heard me talk about how much I adore stripes... For me, they're a wardrobe staple. A stripe can work in the same way as a solid in that it can be mixed and matched with almost anything - even other patterns. The main rule of thumb in mixing patterns is to go for a pattern that's a different size than your stripes. If  you're wearing a wide stripe, try to pair it with a smaller print, like a leopard (as I did here) or a small floral pattern. If your wearing a piece with lots of smaller stripes, mix it with a larger pattern. Heck, you can even mix stripes with stripes, as long as there is enough contrast and the patterns differ in size.

Here I paired a basic black & white striped top with a leopard print scarf. If you're a little hesitant to try mixing patterns, go for something like this. Both of these pieces are so neutral and basic, that mixing them together is a breeze.

On another note... I'm officially 20 weeks along in my pregnancy (halfway there!) and we find out the gender of our little bundle of joy this weekend!! Yay! Keep you posted...
