Operation Renovation

My hubby and I recently purchased our first home, which we are SO excited about! Intead of buying a move-in-ready home, we decided to buy a fixer-upper and make it our mini dream home! We quickly fell in love with this home, and knew that we could make it our own. We got it for a steal of a deal (being that it was a foreclosure), and thankfully the bank did some fixing up of the major things in the house, including new windows, carpeting, furnace, etc.

ANYWAYS, here's just a few photos of our home as it stands now. We have months and months of projects ahead of us, but I'm excited to see the transformation. I'll do my best to post photos as we make progress!

Ps... This won't be the prettiest of blog posts, but I'm quickly learning that renovating simply is NOT pretty!

Left: View from the front yard. We will be repainting the entire exterior, and getting rid of that forest green trim. That will be a project for later this Spring! Right: The home's original 1967 kitchen... Not cute at all. This will get all new white cabinets, new appliances, countertops, wood flooring, etc. A total overhaul!

Left: My favorite room in the house! Our 3 season porch with floor to ceiling windows. I have a feeling I'll be spending a lot of time in this room once I get it lookin good! Can't wait for the snow to melt so I can actually see what my back yard looks like. Right: Family room to the left of the kitchen. The big window provides amazing light, which we love! This room will get a fresh coat of paint, new trim, and new wood floors, which will continue into the kitchen.

Left: Let the demo begin! Family room on the left, kitchen on the right. That wall in the middle will be opened up to let all of that beautiful light into the kitchen and will create an open concept layout. Yay! Right: Kitchen after day 1 of demolition... Excuse the mess!

Left: Carpet coming up in the family room. Right: Living room... Saying bye bye to that ugly bar, dark trim and doors. White trim & white doors will be here soon!

That's it for now... More later!!!
