the bali market

I'm so excited to be sharing about The Bali Market! The kids and I teamed up with them for a photo shoot a few weeks ago and we had so much fun!

The Bali Market sells premium, hand-woven Turkish towels that are so incredibly beautiful! One thing that I love about this company is that they actually work closely with artisans who hand make each towel on traditional handlooms. How cool is that?!

Even though they're called towels, they're so much more than just a towel. I love using them in my home as a throw blanket (more to come on that later), as a beach blanket, or even a wrap or scarf! And of course they look stunning hung up in a bathroom!

Be sure to stop by their website to see more of their collection! Enjoy!

A Whimsical Little Nursery

So, we took these pictures of the nursery when Graceyn was just only a week old. Now that she's almost 8 months old (what?!), I'm FINALLY getting around to posting them! Seriously, I can't believe how quickly life goes by these days!

I have to admit that when I first found out that we were having a baby girl, all I thought about was decorating the nursery! I had a huge Pinterest board full of ideas and already knew that I wanted something whimsical, feminine, and sweet. I knew that I wanted a touch of pink (heck, it's my one time I have an excuse to decorate with pink), but not too much. I'm just not the type to go for all of the pink everything, with lots of ruffles and bows, and all that jazz. We also had to use our third upstairs bedroom for the nursery, which is the smallest room in the house. I knew it would be a bit of a challenge decorating such a small room. So to help it feel more open, we stuck to airy colors, light window treatments, and minimal wall decor.

Through lots of searching, and mixing and matching of pieces, I finally came up with a look that I love. I've also realized that I'm a sucker for adorable little stuffed animals and dolls. That big metal basket is already stuffed full of them! I especially love the kitty in her crib and the swan on her rocking chair. AND, I couldn't resist the fun printed area rug... I mean, cute is that?! It's the perfect place for our sweet baby girl and I can't wait to watch her grow and enjoy the space!

We also did quite a few DIY projects in order to stay under our budget. The dresser was a $30 Craigslist purchase, which I wish I had a before picture of! I spray painted the hardware gold and painted the whole thing with white chalk paint. It's like a new dresser! I was really wanting this dresser from Pottery Barn, and this was a great budget friendly alternative! I was also given a hand-me-down rocker, which was originally a dark walnut. I painted the wood frame with the same white chalkpaint as the dresser, and left the original taupe colored upholstery. Finally, I found a cute $8 mid-century end table at Goodwill, which I painted a pretty pink color (one shade darker than the accent wall color).

Of course, we also gave the walls a fresh coat of paint! The colors that we used are:

Wall color:  Benjamin Moore Paper White
Accent wall: Benjamin Moore Gentle Butterfly
